MIFF 2014 is coming up Oct. 10-11 at Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10 in Melbourne, with special guests including recording artist Prita Chhabra, wrestling legend Sid Eudy, and “Ink Master” tattoo artist Jayvo Scott. And don’t forget the local premiere of “Bang Bang!” (shown above) and a great night of Bollywood entertainment.

5-7 p.m. ‘Real Food Real Kitchens’ and reception
Real Food Real Kitchens, the series about family, food, culture and history, will open the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival for the third year in a row. This year, we will be premiering a new episode from Season 2 — an entire episode about Indian cuisine featuring some signature Indian dishes directed by Craig Chapman and featuring the culinary talents of the Imami family. All of this will be followed by a food tasting event with Indian music with dishes featured on the TV series, sponsored by Taste of India restaurant and Kingfisher beer.

The dancers from the music video and select guests will be asked to walk the red carpet for the premiere of the locally produced Prita Chhabra music video “Stronger,” directed by Steven Shea and featuring scenes from the opening of the Manav Mandir Temple.
